Fix It is an innovative prototype project developed to address a common household problem: when something breaks at home, such as a leaking pipe, a malfunctioning air conditioner, an electrical issue, or a damaged door, many people do not know who to contact for fast and reliable assistance. Most individuals depend on asking friends for recommendations, searching random contacts online, or postponing the repair because they are unsure whom to trust. This creates stress, delays, and often leads to unreliable service. The need to simplify this process was the main reason behind developing this project. Fix It is designed as a smart mobile application prototype that aims to connect users with skilled and verified maintenance technicians in an easy and secure way. The proposed solution allows users to select the required service, book a technician, receive an estimated cost, and schedule a suitable visit time through one platform. The project is planned to offer services such as plumbing, air conditioning maintenance, electrical repairs, carpentry, and general home fixing services. What makes this idea unique in the market is its focus on convenience, trust, transparency, and speed, all integrated into one digital platform. Unlike traditional methods that rely on word-of-mouth recommendations or unverified online searches, this prototype aims to provide a more organized and user-friendly experience. At this stage, the project is in its primary prototype phase, where the team is focused on developing the initial design, testing the user journey, and preparing the minimum viable product (MVP). Future plans include launching the first working version of the application, collecting customer feedback, improving the service model, adding advanced booking and technician rating features, and expanding the platform to serve wider communities in the future.
