"The problem ZayTech is an innovative, student-led project developed in response to a growing concern in local and regional markets: the widespread adulteration of olive oil and the difficulty consumers face in verifying its authenticity. Many individuals unknowingly purchase low quality or unsafe olive oil mixed with cheaper substances such as vegetable oils or artificial colorings, which not only affects quality but may also, pose health risks. Our solution Recognizing this issue, the team designed a practical and accessible solution that empowers consumers to confidently assess the purity of their olive oil. ZayTech offers a scientific testing service where customers can submit samples for analysis using a controlled chemical process involving substances such as ethanol and sodium hydroxide, supported by a clear mathematical formula that classifies oil purity levels into specific ranges—from (Extra virgin) olive oil to oil that is unsafe for consumption (In-edible) referring to the rules of the Ministry Of Agriculture in Jordan. The results are classified as follows: • 0.0 – 0.3: Extra virgin olive oil • 0.3 – 0.8: Virgin olive oil • 0.8 – 2.0: Normal olive oil • 2.0 – 3.0: Not safe for consumption This method provides a clear and practical way to assess olive oil authenticity. Service or Product The project currently operates as a service, ensuring accessibility for a wide range of users, while maintaining a high accuracy rate of approximately 90% through repeated testing procedures to ensure reliability of results. Our Unique Value Proposition What distinguishes ZayTech from existing solutions is its combination of affordability, scientific accuracy, and user-centered approach, as it not only provides testing but also guides customers toward trusted sources of high-quality olive oil. Unlike traditional laboratory testing, which can be costly and inaccessible, ZayTech simplifies the process without compromising credibility. Our project is based on a service that is accessible to everyone. Customers can send samples of their olive oil to be tested in a controlled and safe environment, after which they receive accurate results regarding its purity and quality. This service empowers consumers to make informed decisions and protects them from unreliable or unsafe products. We also use the data to construct a digital application using coding to analyze the results and develop a digital report that can be send to the customer as a soft copy or a QR code. Our unique value proposition We think that our customers should participate in our service because we offer great prices while also making them affordable and gaining profit and we provide great accuracy by 90% and we would also suggest certified places for selling pure olive oil. What makes our project so unique is that no one offers this much accuracy and careful testing’s because we do things more than once to check our accuracy in the purity of olive oil to give our customers close to what is real . Our future ambition and plans Looking ahead, the ZayTech team aspires to expand the project by developing a portable, mini testing kit that allows individuals to perform basic olive oil purity tests independently at home. This kit will include all necessary materials along with clear, user-friendly instructions and safety guidelines, making the solution scalable and impactful on a larger level. Through innovation, accessibility, and a strong commitment to quality assurance, ZayTech aims to build trust in food products and contribute to healthier consumer choices."
