Project: Play and Code

Play and Code was created in response to a growing concern: children are spending an increasing amount of passive screen time, which not only impacts their creativity and social skills but also limits their development of essential digital and logical thinking abilities. To tackle this issue, the project offers a unique and innovative solution: educational board games that introduce programming and computational thinking in a fun, engaging, and screen-free way. The first game developed, Rush to the Planets, takes children on an exciting space-themed adventure where they must solve algorithmic challenges using sequential instructions. This hands-on approach encourages logical reasoning, problem-solving, and collaboration, all without the need for digital devices. The game has been successfully tested and validated at international board game festivals in both France and Tunisia, and has already secured nearly 100 confirmed pre-orders. What sets Play and Code apart is its original methodology that blends education, creativity, and screen-free interaction. Unlike most digital educational tools, this project emphasizes physical, immersive experiences that promote active learning and teamwork. The approach makes coding concepts accessible and enjoyable, even for children as young as 6 years old. Recently, the brand underwent a full rebranding process, including a refreshed visual identity and a targeted communication strategy aimed at expanding its reach to families, educators, and schools. The long-term vision is to build a progressive collection of educational games, covering core topics such as binary logic, artificial intelligence, and unplugged robotics. Play and Code aims to become a key player in playful STEM education, forging strong partnerships with schools and institutions across the MENA region and beyond. The ultimate goal: to empower future generations with digital skills through the power of play.
